(4 marzo 2013) GINEBRA – “Compartir el poder con las mujeres es un atajo para reducir el hambre y la malnutrición, y es la medida más eficaz para la realización del derecho a la alimentación”, afirmó el Relator Especial de Naciones Unidas sobre el derecho a la alimentación, Olivier De Schutter, al tiempo que instó a los gobiernos de todo el mundo a adoptar estrategias transformadoras de seguridad alimentaria que afronten las restricciones culturales y redistribuyan los roles entre mujeres y hombres.

El 'acaparamiento de océanos’ representa una amenaza tan seria como el ‘acaparamiento de tierras’

[30 de octubre de 2012] NUEVA YORK – El Relator Especial de las Naciones Unidas sobre el derecho a la alimentación, Olivier De Schutter, advirtió hoy sobre la amenaza que el ‘acaparamiento de los océanos’ representa para la seguridad alimentaria e instó a los gobiernos de todo el mundo así como a las organizaciones internacionales a frenar el agotamiento de los recursos pesqueros, y a tomar medidas urgentes para proteger, mantener y compartir los beneficios de la pesca y los ecosistemas marinos.
