[16 Mai 2012] OTTAWA / GENÈVE – « Le Canada a longtemps été considéré comme un pays de cocagne. Aujourd’hui pourtant, une famille sur dix avec un enfant de moins de six ans n’est pas en mesure de répondre à ses besoins alimentaires quotidiens. Ces taux d’insécurité alimentaire sont inacceptables, et il est temps que le Canada adopte une stratégie nationale en matière de droit à l’alimentation, » a déclaré Olivier De Schutter, le Rapporteur spécial de l’ONU sur le droit à l’alimentation, le dernier jour de sa visite officielle dans le pays.*

[6 Mars 2012] GENEVE – « Nos systèmes alimentaires rendent les gens malades, » a mis en garde mardi Olivier De Schutter, le Rapporteur spécial de l’ONU sur le droit à l’alimentation. « Un septième de la population mondiale est sous-alimentée, et bien plus encore souffrent de la ‘faim cachée’ provoquée par une carence en micronutriments, tandis que 1,3 milliards de personnes sont en surpoids ou obèses. »
