5 March: Presentation to the Human Rights Council and interactive dialogue on country missions reports in Benin, Brazil, Guatemala and Nicaragua (Geneva)

Olivier De Schutter shall present the main findings and recommendations of his reports of the four country missions he conducted in 2009. Country missions are an important component of the Special Rapporteur’s mandate. The aim of such visits is to obtain first-hand information on the progressive realization of the right to food, to report on findings and to propose, in a spirit of cooperation and assistance, recommendations to improve situations identified as matters of concern.
 
5 March: Presentation to the Human Rights Council and interactive dialogue on the report “Agribusiness and the right to food” (Geneva)

Olivier De Schutter shall present the main findings and recommendations of his report on the role of agribusiness and the right to food, which aims to identify the contribution of the private sector to ensuring global food security.
