At the invitation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Olivier De Schutter will address the Parliamentary Meeting convened on the occasion of the World Summit on Food Security, on the theme of "Parliaments addressing agriculture, hunger and food insecurity in times of global crisis". The meeting is held in Rome, at the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament.
Among the other participants are Mr Franco Frattini, Minister of Foreign Affairs Italy, Mr. Kanayo F. Nwanze, President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Mr. Jacques Diouf, the Director-General of FAO, and Ms. Josette Sheeran, the Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP).
