On 16-17 July, the Special Rapporteur will take part in a meeting co-organized by the EIUC and UNESCO on the right to enjoy the benefits of scientific progress, recognized in Article 15(1)(b) of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. He will present a paper on the role of this right in the realization of the right to adequate food.
On 18 July, Annual conference of the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation: The Special Rapporteur will take part in the annual EIUC conference, which is dedicated this year to discussing the impact of the global economic crisis on human rights. He will introduce and chair a panel on the impact of the global economic crisis on social rights.
