Olivier De Schutter will attend the European Economic and Social Committee's conference "Food for Everyone - Towards a Global Deal", organized in advance of the G20 meeting on agricultural markets.
The Special Rapporteur will participate at the roundtable "Food Security as a global challenge". Other participants at the conference include: Bruno Le Maire, French Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, Rural Affairs and Planning; Jacques Diouf, FAO Director-General; Dacian Ciolos, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development; Andris Piebalgs, European Commissioner for Development; Arancha González Laya, Head of Cabinet of WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy; Tumusiime Rhoda Peace, Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture at the African Union Commission (AUC); and David Nabarro, UN Special Representative on Food Security and Nutrition.
