Olivier De Schutter will be taking part in Bamako, Mali, in a meeting on Commercial Pressure on Land in West Africa. The meeting is convened by the OECD's Sahel and West Africa Club, and it will represent a unique opportunity to test the relevance of the "Principles and Measures" related to large-scale land acquisitions or leases presented by the Special Rapporteur on June 11th, 2009, as well as the possibility for governments to develop a common answer to this issue in a regional setting.
